Be Brave, Not Perfect
If you are female, you are most likely subject to bouts of perpetual perfectionism. Of course, I only know myself and can affirm that this is true of me; however, after visiting with many friends over many years we all agree that we exhibit at least a healthy dose of it.
Recently, I was introduced to a book by Reshma Saujani titled Brave, Not Perfect. Ms. Saujani is the founder of Girls Who Code and has an EXTREMELY interesting journey and story about how as a woman who had no background in either politics or computer language found herself running for office AND founding an organization to propel young girls into professions in technology.
What does it take? Perfectionism and/or innate skills and gifts? No, women need only take a lesson from the opposite sex and learn to be courageous and adventurous and take risks (which society and family does not teach us to do). Are these attributes we can learn at any point in our lives or any age?
Hell, yes!
